Before signing a lease in Belgium, it’s essential to check that the property is suitable, safe and comfortable. This checklist will help you check all the important points during your visit, to avoid unpleasant surprises after you’ve moved in.

- Take photos of areas to watch out for (moisture, cracks, installations).
- If the landlord does not provide certain documents (PEB, electricity), ask for them before signing the lease.
- Keep the signed or dated checklist as evidence in the event of a dispute.
